End of another year....Some of them are working hard as it is the financial close and last week of this year 2005...some of them are chasing rats as their clients are all on vacation.. so they ESC by afternoon to do the cat work ;-)

Lets not go into the stats of the number of crimes reported this year but lets just discuss few tips about being more careful.. esp...for women who travel alone :-)

1. Always carry your cell phone with you. If you are in US, kindly store 911 as speed dial in one another number other than '9'. This way, you might just press some number hard enough that it can directly be connected to 911 and also would not get the attention of your attacker if you dont press the number 9. For those who are in India, kindly store some emergency contact number in ur cell phone (your personal contact) or also 100
2. Whenever you travel alone, let someone know - ur room-mate or friend or relative (parents), when and where you are going and what time you would be back.
3. Even if you are travelling to a new place, familiarize yourself a lil about the possible routes you are going to take and also the nearby locations which might be having some crowd even during the wee hours ( Mapquest or google maps and other Trip planner sites for your State is good enough). This might take some extra minutes but is always wise to do it.
4.Carry "Pepper" spray or chilli powder with you at all times esp when you travel alone ( can throw your make up powders from your kitty bag if you lack space).Knifes and other sharp items may be prohibited due to security issues in some places and is not a good idea to carry them :-)
5. Never encourage a stranger too much. Even if someone would offer rides :-), say NO to them. It is illegal to offer rides to pedastrians in the States. Do not get allured to the extra friendly gestures even from people of either Sex.
6. Do not look scared. Even if you are really scared, dont ever show it on your face. This gives the attacker more courage. The more bold you look, they will think twice...This is not practically possible at all times... but TRY....
7. Never hesitate to report what you see. If you see something or someone disturbing, always try to report it. Do not think it is not your headache. You never know how harmful it might turn out to be cos of your lack of a minute to report :-)

Eppavum...thuru thurunu .... ungala suthi irukkum atmosphereaa observe pannunga...kuninja thalai nimiraama nadakka thevai illai....inga ungaloda adakkamum odukkamum thevai illai...

These are some of the tips I could think of. More suggestions are welcome. Not only girls, guys who travel alone also need to be more careful.

Last but not the least, the new contacts you make always not to be trusted toooooooooooooooo much..(esp in a new place ex. when you move to a new city)... they can turn out to be ass holes. Never discuss too much of your personal life with new anyone unless you know them realllllllly well.... this is specially for all the girls...( avanunga/avaluga vidura kadhai... indha kaathula vaangi andha kaathula joot vidanum....never should reply from your mouth ;-))

PS : my heart-felt condolences to the BPO employee who was murdered in Blore

Thanks giving.. well roots back to celebration of immigrants thanking the natives of US of A for helping them to survive in this land. This was believed to have been a feast given by them to the natives. Though modern day Thanks giving dinner has turkey and pumpkin pie ( off-late) as part of their 'mandatory' menu, this was not proven in the past historic records....

well idhellam oru pakkam irukka.... this holiday week end witnesses one of the most nightmarish traffic on the roads esp the evening before thanks giving. Usually, any long week end starts with the heavy traffic with people trying to escape for vacations. This was kind of reduced with 9/11 and people started travelling without fear from last year end (2004).

With the increasing madness..... there have been a drastic number of accidents with this madness...of heavy traffic.

One such accident was witnessed by people in Chicago this wednesday, nov 23, 2005. One of the trains hit the cars in a level crossing. There were a total of 12 cars being hit and the statistics of people injured were not reported properly to the media. The cause of the accident is still not known. How did so many cars get there when they knew that the train is being run on a "scheduled time"??? This is a total mystery. The time table of the trains is followed strictly in this country and it is never altered even by a minute unless abnormal or unavoidable circumstances. I found it too mysterious.

The most surprising part of this was that, this news though it was covered by important channels like CNN was not made a big issue. This NEWS making incident was made a small report by the media. I found it very surprising. What could be the reason??? (1) Was this because this might be considered "inauspicious ??? beginning " for this thanksgiving season ( Thanksgiving is considered the beginning of holidays and celebrations) (2) Was it because they wanted to protect their 'responsible' behaviour??? (3) Was it because they did not want to panic the huge crowd travelling across the country???

If something like this has happened in India, I can imagine the commotion the politicians would have made.. (imagine ... with LALU being the minister of railways....cant stop myself from ROTFL with imagining what his responses would have been )...

well.. all this apart... I was also one of them who had to wait in the train which was delayed for 3+ hours and also saw those cars involved in the accident. From the damage to the cars, am sure any witness could easily imagine the state of the lives involved with the accident.

Along with wishing you all for Thanksgiving....I would like to pray for the recovery of those people.

Musky Mask

7:39 AM / Posted by cutefreaky / comments (11)

Am i talking about DEO we wear??? ada paavingala... kulikkaama blog padikireengala...

naan aniyum mask (wht others think abt me )...friendly, extrovertish, extremely bold, help@anytime

what am i actually... well...am really comfortable talking to anyone @ any age... but the real me... is a person who can go to party's and hang out only with my known gang, can be my usual notorious and talkative only with my friends... On deep thoughts am I really the extrovertish mask am wearing......dunno (?)

what i think abt myself :
Friendly ....really easy to start talking to and can talk in a variety of topics....this is the best part of the mask which actually adds musk to my heart :-)

Extremely bold : hehehee...i hope my folks r not reading this post....I don't hesitate to take any actions if needed. Im not sure if some people refer to his as foolishly bold... but I have been brought up so independant that i find this as a part and parcel of me...Inwardly am not sure of whether to be happy about this part of me.

Help@anytime : wellllll..u r welcome to knock 24/7 & I wud be available to help anytime....This is something which i like the best about myself... but people who care for me sometimes feel i should Prioritize.....hmmmm.. well i shld remem that the next time i offer to help smone ( am very forgetful...lol)

wht I think about myself is the same as the REAL me......

what i dont like abt the above ME : Being too friendly gets me into trouble @ times,
extemely bold : when others tell me about the possible bad things that could have happened abt the risks i have been taking... i feel am too quick in action and feel stupid sometimes.... and last but not the least 'help@anytime' actually attracts lot of ppl to exploit me...

does everyone like the musky mask am wearing ???? do I really care... am not sure. I do care abt wht ppl I care for think abt me...

Ennavendru sollavadhu......

How much does the first impression influence a relationship? What if the person you judged by the appearance made you the WORSSSSTTTTT judge on the face of earth????????

Does this happen to all of you out there???

Why do we have to judge someone just by looking at them without giving them the oppurtunity to make us find out what they really are?

This maybe something which can influence a lot of relationships...like friendship @ any place.... relationships with employers/employees.....future TBD relationships....
Have we ever thought about the possible "good" people we might have missed becoz of the above mistake?????

Ada... idhellam idunga pa... naaama ellam indha bloggin panrom.. how many of us.. treat the people V meet daily with the same polite talk u do when u chat with ur fellow blogger??????????

welll.... the reason... for this post is... while travelling.. I was tooo bored....became restless... and ended up looking at people and was wondering what kind of a person each of my co-passengers might be... adhaaan indha vetti post........

On the contrary.. we end up spending valuable time of our lives with people....which we might end up discovering... it was WORTHless....moments in our lives........

wht the hell.."life is to live.. live it to the fullest" :-)

Bandhak : Hostage

6:44 PM / Posted by cutefreaky / comments (7)

Deep thoughts reflected in their first production. The story is about the aftermath of 9/11.

The crew is new and a good effort has been made by them. The boom of the IT industry and the numerous oppurtunities during the Y2K period is a known fact. What happened to the immigrants in the US as an aftermath of the 9/11 is the crux of the movie.

The crew is small and the charecters are shown to have come from different family background s with different needs and situations. Typical life of an Immigrant in a shared enviroment with emotions has been well depicted on the screen. It was something that could be well connected-to by immigrant from any country.

If you are looking for commercial aspects, this movie would not be a good choice. Though the movie is in Indian language, the expressive acting of the main role conveys the message to international audience.

romba yosikaren naan.. adhaaan indha time pass post...(Adult content not restricted to just 18 and above)

why do we say "don't create any politics" when we refer to some chaos or confusion..

Y have people made this word sound synonomous to confusion. Is that why it is so tough for many people to understand the politics created by "Mr/Ms. confuscious"'s????? What are the politicians gaining by intimidating 'sensible' people away from their arena? If someone asked me the about the last time I voted, neither am I able to recall the name of the people who stood for the big POSTS like CM/PM nor can I hardly recall the local politician's name for whom I voted for.

Most of them enter politics to find themselves a PROFESSION, some jump in to keep up the Family name...(roobha notela sirikudhu...kudumba peru...lol), some for popularity.......n what the hell.. where are the people who enter politics to SERVE people????

well to be frank, Educated people in India treat the Election date as a "HOLIDAY" and stay back home for all the special news bulletin or the FIRST time telecasted movies, people who are young vote for being the FIRST timer ;-) , people who are old are either helpless to go alone or if they do take their efforts to go and find out after standing in the queue that they have been officially "dead" in the voting list or their GHOST twin has already casted the vote...lol....and the UNEDUCATED lot is exploited for all the cheap alcohols or the WATER carriers of 'SARAVANA'S', last but not the least :NRI... NOT RESPONSIBLE for any politics happ in INDIA

all this should change.. and wht am i doing for this instead of VETTI-ly blogging....hmmm least ppl who read this will think a min or two about it.. that's the effort I could do... and maybe the NRI's would look into their "local" newspapers on the net to confirm their memory on the present CM and PM's names.... (let me do a google before someone asks me in comments section ...:-P)

I think the most recent post of Vinesh has caused a wave and Neha has posted a similar post in her blog too...

Instead of expressing my comments about this whole issue, I thought of sharing some thoughts of someone whom I was lucky to meet when I was almost in the beginning of my teen years.

Imagine visiting a relative or friend's place who have kids. What are the possible gift we would buy the kid. If the kid is a girl, we have too many choices for them with exclusive choices of dolls, varieties of dresses, jewellery, props and what not. There is no end to get a gift for a girl. What if the kid is a boy? Even if you list all possible things you could gift the boy, the amount of choices you might end up for a boy can never match the girl's list. The number of choices for gifts for guys is even less as his age becomes higher.

Second most important thing is that, pampering and cuddling given to the girl is more than the exhibit of affection shown towards the boy. This kind of attention is always more for a girl at whichever age she is in. This is also deprived for a boy as he grows. You can never imagine the boy being hugged by the "aunty" who is visiting his place with the boy starting in his teens or later ages. Girls are pampered and given more attention whatever their age might be. Also the only care or pampering or attention or cuddling is given to the boy as he grows is by the MOTHER Of the boy and no one else. FATHERS are usually not into hugging and cuddling or carressing and can't expect them to fulfill the "lack of affection" a BOY kid may miss over his growing years.

This kind of lack of affection makes the guy crave for a girl more than the girl craving for a guy. This kind of craving gets satisfied only when the guy finds his "mother" in another girl. This search of affection mostly gets to their destination at the wonderful bond called marriage. The gentle squeeze of hands, gentle hugs, puppy kisses, snuggling cuddles and big bear cozy hugs which the boy lacks over his growing years makes him give more attention to the "motherly" breasts in the opposite gender. The tendency of getting obsessed with something you are not able to obtain slowly grows in his mind and makes him yearn for it. This naturally makes the guy to pay more attention to something in a girl which he does not possess and which he thinks would make him feel more "loved" and "cared" for( though the boys can have friends of his own gender, the warmth and tenderness of the affection showed by the girl is irreplaceable).

This was the explanation "SHE" gave for guys either craving or more attention to breasts of woman. This explanation though I could not understand much at that age, did seap deep into my heart and made more sense as I grew up and got to know more guys. I would say this is more logical too. The guy who has relatively more women in his life (say sisters added to the default woman in his life ie. mother) would be more dignified when he meets the girls/women in the society at various situations in life. Is this the reason when the girl is getting abused by a guy, the first Q she asks is " are'nt u born with sisters??". Some guys misunderstand this thinking that the girl whom he is teasing is in an urge to meet her future in laws.. lol.. kodumaiyaaaaa ungaloda...

How can we change this? Well that is something to be pondered about. The way we bring up kids plays a vital role. If this is done properly, the kid will never get spoilt even when his friends are rogues who commit sexual harrassments.

Nature has differentiated men and women for its own cause. We can't redefine nature but we can reform ourselves and make this beatiful world a more loving place to enjoy every moment in life...

THis post is dedicated to my best friend in life. The last time I saw her must have been almost 4 or 5 yrs ago. Circumstances and ego problems of elders were causes that prevented us from keeping in touch. When I met her last she took me by surprise saying that she always remembers how everyday she used to be scared to enter her kitchen when she is alone at home and how she used to eat as soon as I went home.I also told her that I used to remem her bday but never bothered to wish for which she felt bad that I didn't. Though she is younger to me by six months, I have always been her baby-sitter...lol...... The day she told me this, I cried that night all alone and felt I really missed her.

Sept 16 is her bday and it has always been great with all the bday parties and celebrations in her house. I used to feel she was damn lucky to have such wonderful cake parties for all her bdays. SHe is indeed a friend for life and a wonderfully sweet thing happened to me in my life, someone who shared the BEST days of my childhood.

Little will she knw that the anonymous caller who wishes her every year on her bday was me :-) [called your home number during the last one hr of this wonderful day and was disappointed that no one picked the call]

My dear sweet heart... WIsh you many many more happy returns of this wonderful day. May that LORD bless you with whatever you wish for in your life.

Take care and I really miss you..

Me and my lil world of me alone has been .. in a very confused state analyzing ANDHAR balti in my last post.... but well..... i guess the curse continues... lol...

After taking off for a couple of dayzzz...today I went back to office. I heard a whole bunch of Mr. Curio Questions from all my collegues. Looks like I have projected a picture of home--> office--> home --> office and my disapp for a couple of days made all of them forget their work and wonder where I had disappd to ;-)...indha makkal thirundhavey maatangala.. I thought only desi's behave like this..(my office has lots of desi's) but then my surprises grew with chinky's being curious about my disapp.... one whole bunch of people congradulated me.. making 'mIss SLeeepy' all the more wonder what the hell was wrong with all of them or is it something about me!@#$!%$#@~T%$# Onnum puriyala.. and to add more fire to the gas burning right next to me ( my team mate), I found out that there had been a rumor that I either quit job or got some job..... man..where the hell do they get all these news from @!#%@!%$#^ "VENDHA PUNNULA VELAI PAAICHUM SAMOOGAM".......endru thirunthum indha maanida piravi.. eppo dhaan indha vambu adikkum pudhi pogumo??? Kadavuley..... me... all the more confused about the whole hoooooo's and wooooo's and then it took some time for me to figure things out and then "SIM" the gas stove next to me and went back to work.. My Inbox was overflowing... my brain was STACK OVERFLOW with the happening of the day...

From next time, if i ever take off for a day am going to send out email to all employees in the office : " REQ for leave due to my friend's blog innauguration ceremony".....lol

well.....last but not the least (warning : kids below 18 kindly skip this part).... I thought of posting this pic with absolutely no connection to my post except that we share the common platform - windows illai... stop working people - the common platform am referring to is "rumor in office"..When I first got this pic as a fwd from one of my friend, I was not able to understand the pic @ first.....well it is a funny pic....the expressive mind behind the DESIGNER of this pic is amazing. While writing my blog i read a post by vinesh, about a sensitive issue in his

Well off late things have been.... u know.... too confusing....

Now am just blogging cos.. I need an outlet......

People are of different kinds. Is understanding a human being such a difficult task? Do people around me have similar problems with me too? How do we analyze and get to know a person? Does a psychiatrist really understands all his patients? Does it mean that all of us should be students of that subject to understand people around us? This is one part of my thinking...

Other part..is.. you think you have completely understood someone, well atleast you claim that you understand the 'thought' process of someone once you get really close to them, how sure can you get and at what point can you make this claim?

Guess am thinking too much...lol.. enna panna once in a while when you become that Minnaley girl ( maddy engayya??? ) ..alone n thinking.. this is what happens...

Last but not the least... How could people change overnight? Idukku peru dhaan andhar baltiya?? Kuranga pirakka vendiya jandhu ellam manushanaa pirandha idhaan gathi.....

Ezhuthu kooti padikkum en iniya thamizh thozhar- thozigaley

People who read tamil alphabet by alphabet would have read the first and the second word in a similar fashion (Kelari kilariya siripalai…huh!#$#^%&^?)

In school we had this interactive class where it was made sure that every student in the class participated. The game of the day was that you should list out 5 random years or dates significant in your life and your partner should guess correctly. We would get points. This meant a lot to all of us at that time as we could earn stars based on the points we win.

Teacher : Hey “A” can you please stand up and tell the dates you guessed about your partner?
A: Year 1982 .. it was his birth year
    Teacher : Ok
A: Year 1985 .. his younger brother was born
Teacher : Fine and did you guess it?
A: Yes. The third date was 19XX and this was the year his parents got married
[ One more question was also told by Mr.A]
Teacher : Looks like you guessed everything? What about the last one ?
A : No Ma’am. The last year he had written was 1991 and….
Teacher : So what was the significance of that year that you were not able to guess?
A: When I asked him he said : “ That was the year when my dad became bald”

The whole class roared with laughter. The teacher could not control herself. This was the most mischievous guy of my class and yeah.. avan thaan namba – Gowri kilariya siripallai..

Almost a month ago we got in touch and he called me from Europe :

G : Parava illayey kandu pidichutiye … hehehee
S : Appuram sollu how is life ? Romba maaritiya school appuram??
G : Hey un kural phonela romba maari pochu.. namba enna oru 9th or 10th lasta pathirupoma??

G: hey aaamam correct .. ( I was roaring with laughter with the serious tone in which he was analyzing how much my voice has changed.......lol)

Time to show your innner ferocious sleeping lion to the world..'patriotism'..such a wonderful feeling that cannot be explained in mere words..... its like a smell of fresh air...

Well another important thing is that no matter where you are ... you are still patriotic towards your country. I have seen a lot of people complaining about BRAIN drain ... but if they get a chance to go abroad, they would be more than happy to grab that chance.. (Hypo..hypopotamasa???... illayey.. aaah.. hypocrites :)

Well I watched Mangal Panday by aamir and I think he has a good timing of releasing the movie about a forgotten freedom fighter. The widely spoken about freedom fighters are those who were alive on that magical day of Aug 15 1947. The earlier efforts of people in different parts of the country to give all of us this wonderful gift is not widely spoken. The poems of Barathiyar brought into light some of the fighters efforts but still there are more MANGAL PANDEY's whose efforts are not known to us.Does it mean our records of history is not upto the mark?? or does it mean those freedom fighters were modest not to identify themselves or does it mean they thought it was their duty towards their motherland and had no need to brag about it?? Hmm.. I think our present day politicians should answer all these questions instead of posing for Media.. lol... The Charector of "GORDAN" in mangal pandey was really impressive. For all we know there might have been more britishers like him.. Hats off to the guy who played Gordan.. am sure his acting would be well awarded..

Cutting short...here.. there are many more things we all have to think about.. adukku munnadi.. HAPPY INDEPENDANCE DAY TO ALL YOU FELLOW INDIANS OUT THERE..
and guess wht.. on this memorable date.. india is completing 2 yrs of independance from me ...lol....u guessed it right..am completing my 2 yr here :)

One thing we have lost on gaining this independance..is..our neighbours..."And last but not the least...wishing all my dear pakistani neighbours .. HAPPY INDEPENDANCE DAY WISHES".. waiting for yet another magical date...the day when both these lands are going to become once like before

Enna da.. romba naal kazhichu blog panrennu indha titleaaaa?? Illa...appuram??

Oh yes you are right..most of you would have been reminded of the cute lil boy running around the house shouting at his mom this famous “junior horlicks” dialog…. ( trisha mattum nyapagathukku vandha maaakaley….i mean makkaley…avaloda payyana oru kutty payyan varuvaan andha adla)……..that dialog is true to fit to the frame of most of our lives. All of us are so busy with studies/work/sports/entertainment etc..that we forget one of the most important value : Courtesy

When we sit back at the end of the day and try to recall that entire day, we would realize that we have met so many people from dawn to dusk, who would have knowingly or unknowingly would have affected our life. Do you remember how many of them you spoke to and what you spoke to them or do you even remember looking up at some of their faces?? In our busy live style we have forgotten this essential moral value : courteousness. We meet so many people whose small actions might have helped us in survival of that day but then we would not have even said a “thank you” to them.

Oh my god…why am I writing about this topic ..well today I helped one guy in my work place. After about 20 minutes he added me to his IM and said “ thank you”. He was in a senior position than me and I was little surprised and asked if he wanted any other help. He replied saying that since I was not around when he left my table, he had added me to his IM to say “thank you”. He also added the additional comment that he did not want to be added into the categorized list of ‘morons’ who don’t have the time to even say “Thanks” once their job is done. Though it was none of my business, I tried to justify those people’s attitude saying that they might have been busy with their work tension that they might forget to thank for the small help extended to them. His reply was that if they could remember to breathe in their busy schedule, they should also be able to remember to be courteous.

Idhukkum namba kutty herokkum enna connection??? The habit of being polite or courteous should be cultivated at the age of our busyeeeeeeeeeeeeee boy.

Other than "thank you" other polite gestures like "Hi, how are you doing today?" or " Take care" or "Have a nice day" are commonly used by people in countries like US and UK. I can hear a lot of people reading this blog complaining that most of these people dont even wait for a response. I do agree to that, but these small gestures can sometimes brighten someone's day. Try it out and do let me know how you feel when you are polite to people around you.

Last but not the least - " "Keep smiling, you will never know who falls in love with your smile"

Life has been so life-less for past month....too many drastic changes in life.....too many happenings ;)

The best thing that ever happened to me and brought me back to life was getting in touch with my good ol' school mates. All my life i have studies in 3 schools. I got in touch with the yahoo groups my ol' school mates thru a class guy (nee nalla iruppa maharasaaa...)....

Evlo life change aaanalum...enna panninaalum...school naaal nyapagam varum podhu... am sure all our faces light up to a bright smile :)

evlo innocent life...evlo jokes...evlo fun....hmmm....."wish i could turn back time...impossible as it may seem..." - back street singin' behind my head....

romba naal kazhichu...ellarum avangaloda...best moments in school pathi pesarom....lost "crush" pathi pesarom....who married whom gossips...... wht is everyone doing..how is everyone looking like ..when they have grown old....all this is too much fun...

this increased activity of contacting, chatting and calling up over phone ...may be a short lived bubble in the air..but am sure..it is going to be one of my most unforgettable TIME in my lifetime.....

so to all you people out there.....do try to get in touch with your old friends....forget the small fights...forget your ego...try to get in touch...feel free to talk to them..share thoughts...and then let me know...how you felt about it...
